Rob started paddling in central Virginia, but committed to the sport while attending App State in Boone, NC. After graduating with a Recreation Management degree and spending some time at Get Outdoors!, a paddling and outdoors shop in NC, he moved to Fayetteville, WV. Now he not only kayaks and manages our local paddling shop, but also runs his own outfitting and repairs service, Rob’s Outfitting & Repairs, making him our resident gear expert.

Calling Oak Hill home since May 2022, Liz has been on the Ace Adventure Gear Retail Team since she graduated from Boston University with a Strategy, Operations, & Entrepreneurship Degree. Starting as a Sales Associate in Summer ’22, by Fall ’22 she had stepped into a new leadership role within the team. Now, managing operations of all Ace’s retail locations, she balances guiding, kayaking, and retail work, soaking up all the adventure this area has to offer.

Hailing from Missouri, but now calling the New River Gorge her home, Brit joined our team in 2022 and now helps keep the shop looking fresh year round. With years of experience in retail, and a background specifically in merchandising, she rounds out our year round team perfectly. Catch her learning the kayak basics, having fun in inflatables, or enjoying a nice SUP float around the lake. If there’s candy in the shop and you grab some, you owe Brit a thank you!
